Poggibonsi day 3 (10/24)

Today, Tuesday, we decided to make a down day. Pascal needed the rest and we all needed to just stop. After our usual late breakfast, we went into town again to look for internet access and groceries. There was a large store called COOP which we expected to satisfy our groceries needs. We had also been led to believe that there might be an internet access point nearby. So while Nancy, Tai and Pascal went shopping, I went looking. Nothing. I did ask some young people standing in front of what looked like a bank. They didn’t know of one in the complex but thought there might one a short distance away. I went back into the COOP to join the shoppers. The COOP was indeed a large grocery store. Everybody was running around grabbing this and that. Staples like sugar, lunch stuff, dinner food, vegetables, fruit. I just stayed by the cart. Too many choices and too many shoppers. But we sure picked up a lot of food. So back to the apartment to put it all away. We ate some lunch and then decided to just drive out into the country in any direction as Gabrio had suggested. We had driven west the first day so we went east. The small road took us to Castellina in Chianti and Radda in Chianti. We just drove through them without stopping. It was just nice to see the countryside. We got back to the apartment after dark, made some dinner, chatted and then called it a night.
